Boston Park

Our Services Explained

Your Questions Answered

What is Boston Park's primary service offering?

Boston Park offers Travel Risk Advisory & Procurement Services, along with ongoing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Services to organisations with large travel risk programmes and spend. We sit on your side of the table as an extension of your team, to ensure the right providers are fulfilling all contractual obligations effectively.

Who are the experts at Boston Park?

We are senior commercial people from the 'provider side' of the fence. We all have 15 years plus experience in more than one leading Travel Risk Provider, that's our strength. We understand their capabilities, their pricing structures and their obligations. We are also therefore experts in each corporate stakeholder discipline of Travel Risk, be it Corporate Travel, Insurance, Security, Business Continuity, HR or Legal. We pull your teams together, strengthen your policies and programmes, demonstrate the ROI of Travel Risk Programmes to your C-Suite, and reduce the time and cost of managing providers.

What other services does Boston Park offer?

Included within our core offering are travel risk management training for company management and service implementation and integration support services, to ensure the solutions you've purchased are well implemented. Our 'Operational Ad-On' services sees us act as an Authorised Person, 24/7/365 for incident support, and also allows access to deployment, accompanied travel and risk assessment services acting as part of your company's internal team. Our CalmCompass offering furthers the way you support neurodiverse, vulnerable or nervous business travellers.

Who tends to use Boston Park?

Oraganisations of all sizes, who invest in directly procured and contracted Travel Risk Management solutions. Solutions from providers such as medical and security assistance companies, geo-political intelligence firms and travel tracking platforms. In addition, they will often have insurance broker, insurer and corporate travel providers who play or could play a significant role in their travel risk management programme. This complex and often conflicting provider matrix can be both time consuming to manage and involve significant duplication in spend which we aim to identify quickly.

Does Boston Park save their client's money?

Yes, and a lot of it, by managing procurement, renewals and re-negotiations from a much more informed position on pricing and market rates, and by stripping out overspend and service overlap, and in addition by turning what is in effect 'provider up-selling' back into original contract scope fulfilment.

Is Boston Park truly independent?

Yes. We are strictly involved on your side of the table, we have zero services to offer providers and suppliers, zero revenue streams, 'kick-backs' or incentives of any kind. We help you find the right provider for your risk profile and business activity and if you already have it, we help you manage and maximise their offering and reduce the costs you incur.

How do we engage Boston Park if we choose to?

Our services are offered on an annual subscription basis and will automatically renew at the end of each annual term unless cancelled before the renewal cut off. Our 3 subscription levels are:

  1. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
  2. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) + Operational Support
  3. 'Go-to-Market' Procurement Add-On (charged during the year of procurement activity only)

What is meant by accompanied travel and what kind of deployment services do you offer?

Traditionally accompanied travel is usually only encountered for minors, medical cases or in the form of close protection in high-risk locations. Ours is different, through our 'CalmCompass' service we offer pre-travel planning and accompanied travel to nervous, vulnerable or diverse travellers or will simply accompany busy executives on complex itineraries where protection is not the main issue, but ensuring seamless, efficient and carefree travel is.

With regards to deployment services, HR, Travel, Security and Insurance departments often lack the experience or confidence to deploy to a medical or security incident as a company representative, we play that role on your behalf, ensuring 'above and beyond' employee and family support, and 'employer of choice' gold standard care during a crisis.

What does it mean to act as our Authorised Person (AP)?

Whilst terminology can vary, usually the term Authorised Person (AP) is used for the points of contact within a company that a Travel Risk Management provider will call during an incident. This can be an intimidating role for non-operational people to take on, being responsible for approving both significant financial spend and resource deployment 24/7/365. Equally difficult is the internal communication about and decision making required by the incident. Having an AP from the provider side of the scenario can be invaluable and Boston Park will act as the lead or additional AP for our clients, helping them understand and act on the expert advice being offered by your chosen provider.
